Date Nite: 25th Month-Aversary

Yes, you heard me right.  25th Month-Aversary.  Not satisfied, to simply celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary last month, Sarah and I decided to hit the town in style last week to mark 25 months of marriage.

Okay, seriously, we just like to eat and will use any excuse to get a fancy meal.

I surprised Sarah by making reservations at Cafe Rousseau, a charming little spot in the Tower District that we’ve enjoyed in the past.  We like it because it’s relatively quiet, well-decorated, and the food’s pretty darn good.

Most of all, we just enjoy being together!

Raviolis…

Tonight is my second go at date night. Last week Sarah treated me to a wonderful sushi dinner at our favorite place, Wassabi! Since we can’t go eat out every week, we decided that it’d be best to spend date night at home tonight. Not a problem when the Mundys are in the kitchen! Tonight I’m trying my hand at Goat Cheese Raviolis. The project is currently in the prep phase, but looks like this:

A mushy mound of goat cheese, ricotta, and prosciutto. Yum.

This is the first time I’ve tried to make homemade ravioli, because I’ve always heard people talk about how hard and time-consuming it is… we’ll see. The thing with me and cooking is that I’ve never been one to worry about how hard a method is or how much time a certain recipe will take. When I want good food I’ll go through the effort to make good food! I remember one Super Bowl party my family held when I insisted that we make homemade jalapeño poppers. They were a ton of work and my mom hated every minute spent de-seeding peppers, but the poppers turned out great and I’m pretty sure everyone ended up having a good time in the kitchen.

What’s for dinner at your house?
